The new content in Module 19 covers multiple works in Austria, China, Columbia, England, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, and the USA. From China, we include the Lingyin temple in Hangzhou (one of the largest Buddhist temples in China with pagodas and grottos) and Macau’s A-Ma Cultural Center with the world’s tallest statue of A-Ma and landmark Science Center with its conical shape and spiral walkway. The focus in India is Hyderabad, including the Golconda fort, the magnificent Qutub Shahi tombs (the oldest monuments in the city), and the Swayambhu Chennakesava Swamy temple, a rare example of a temple built to reconcile the warring Shaivites and Vaishnavaites. Additional coverage of Columbia includes Bogatá’s Parque la Candelaria green space, Cartagena’s Spanish colonial Sanctuario de San Pedro Claver, and the Restaurante in Situ by Santiago Caicedo in Medellín’s Jardín Botánico. From northern England, there is extensive coverage of Hadrian’s Wall, a major feat of Roman engineering showing the visible remains and the associated f orts, milecastles, and turrets at Birdoswald, Cawfields, Chesters, Corbridge, Housesteads, Vindolanda, and Wallsend. Additional ancient monuments are included from Rome, including the Necropolis of the Via Triumphalis (only recently opened to the public in Vatican city), the Porta San Sebastiano leading to the Via Appia with the Museo della Mura and nearby Tomb of the Scipios as well as art works from Palazzo Massimo and the Capitoline Museum. This module also brings more from various locations in the USA, such as the Bryant Bannister Tree Ring Building by Richard Kennedy Architects at the University of Arizona, the Little Big Horn Battlefield in Montana, and the National Parks’ grandest hotels: Yellowstone’s Old Faithful Inn, Yosemite’s Ahwhanee Hotel, and the Inn at Death Valley. And, there is so much more, Göttweig Abbey in Austria, I Tatti in Florence, Tarragona in Spain, Orange in France, etc.
