Module 18 includes extensive documentation of the two Frank LLoyd Wright houses in Manchester, NH: the Zimmerman House (Usonian, 1951) and Kalil House (Usonian Automatic, 1955). This includes both the grounds and the interior of each house. In both one can see Wright’s use of
tight narrow front halls, which create suspense until you arrive at the houses’ one great space, the living room. A few miles away is the Canterbury Shaker Village with exteriors photos and also including interiors of most buildings. Canterbury Shaker Village is a National
Historic Landmark with 29 18th century Shaker buildings on 694 acres founded by Father Job Bishop. This module brings us many of the recent structures in New York City, including the Hudson Yard’s SHED, Edge and Vessel, the One World Trade Center, The National September 11
Memorial & Museum and the World Trade Center Transportation Hub (2004), by Calatrava.
