Module Fifteen brings exciting new architecture from Mexico, including the sculptural and shimmering Museo Soumaya by Fernando Romero and Museo Jumex by David Chipperfield. Highlights from the Mexico City business district Santa Fe include the underground mall Garden Santa Fe, the Louis Kahn-inspired Calakmul Corporate Building, the church complex Parroquia San Josemaria Escriva, and the angular Paradox Tower (by SOM). Extensive coverage of the site of Teotihuacan includes related works held in the Museum of Anthropology. Also from Mexico City is complete documentation of the Frida Kahlo House Museum (Casa Azul) and the gorgeous Palacio de Bellas Artes, with an Art Deco interior. From Spain we include the bright and colorful Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport by Richard Rogers and from Islamic Spain, the Generalife and gardens in Granada, and the Alcazar and gardens in Seville. From France comes the Foundation Maeght, by Josep Lluís Sert, including complete coverage of the sculpture garden with works by Miró and others. This module also has works from Quito, Ecuador, including the Church and Convent of San Francisco (the largest structure of colonial Latin America), and the 135 foot tall Virgin of El Panceillo, looking out over the entire city from a 656 foot hilltop. To round off the module we include a number of Pompeian houses, architecture and frescos, documented in the summer of 2019.
